I believe that investing in our child’s development from the earliest age is the single most important contribution we can make.Jay Weatherhill
Toddlers live in a world of facts. “The sky is blue. Those flowers are red.” They don’t know why things are the way they are and at this point they aren’t particularly interested in finding out. They thrive in a world of first experiences, sensations and exploration of the world with all their senses; seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and feeling.
Our toddler program is based specifically on the needs of children 18 months to 3 years of age. Our classrooms are bright and inviting spaces where children can find engaging activities, enjoy group play and experience new things. We engage with children in a responsive learning environment. We begin by recognizing the phase of development in which the child finds themselves as well as their interests. Our educators then offer experiences that satisfy the child’s curiosity. Developmentally appropriate materials are provided that offer open ended experiential learning. This allows the child to explore freely and promote imaginative play.
Through play, children are encouraged to develop speech and begin the inquiry process leading to learning.
The need to make choices.
The need to be valued and listened to.
The need to feel comfort and affection.
The need to explore, learn and progress in their development.
